Dedicated to the memory of Mike Day

This page is a place to share memories of my father, Mike Day, who passed away on 13th January 2022 after a short illness. During his final months, my father received care from the wonderful hospice at home team from Katherine House Hospice in Stafford. I know that Dad would want to do something for them, so we respectfully ask that if you were considering sending flowers, you instead make a small donation to Katherine House in his memory. Treasured memories in your company Mike going to watch the Baggies and listening to you tell me your stories, along with telling me about the people you knew. Wherever you are Mike I just hope the Baggies are playing well and that Jeff Astle and Bomber Brown are scoring plenty of goals like they used to . My immediate memory of Mike was when he was working at GET and i was about to buy my first house in 1997, Mike sorted me a load of items for me all at cost (!) but more than that he personally delivered them to me. I was so touched by his thoughtfulness. He has always been a true gentlemen, always asked me about the family. A man of many stories - a joy to know. It was with great sadness we learned of the passing of our angling club secretary. Mike Day. Mike held the position of secretary for 22 years. He worked tirelessly to improve what was available to Albrighton Anglers members, his dedication and passion has created one of the best angling clubs in the area, a fitting legacy to him. Its been an honour and a pleasure to serve on the committee during Mike's secretary tenure, he was a club secretary that simply got things done, a lot of it unseen by the general membership.
